Pisco Climbing Expedition

We leave Huaraz by private transport through the Llanganuco Valley to Cebollapampa, where the approach toward Pisco Base Camp begins. After reaching camp, we rest, hydrate and review equipment before continuing toward higher altitude.

Cebollapampa altitude: 12,795 ft
Base Camp altitude: 15,256 ft

We ascend through moraine terrain toward Moraine Camp. During the afternoon, the mountain guide reviews technical equipment, glacier procedures and preparation for the summit attempt.

Moraine Camp altitude: 16,076 ft

Summit day begins before sunrise. The team enters the glacier roped together and climbs through snow and ice toward the summit. If weather, glacier conditions and team performance allow, we reach the 5,752 m / 18,871 ft summit before descending safely to Base Camp.

Climbing and descent time: 9-12 hours

After breakfast, we descend through the Llanganuco Valley to Cebollapampa, where private transportation returns the group to Huaraz after completing this high-altitude glacier climbing experience.
