Day 01 :

Huaraz - Llanganuco Lakes - Portachuelo - Yuraccorral Camp

We leave Huaraz early in the morning by private transport and travel north through the scenic Callejon de Huaylas toward Huascaran National Park. Our first major stop is the Llanganuco Valley, where we visit the famous glacial lakes of Chinancocha and Orconcocha. Their turquoise waters lie between the towering massifs of Huascaran and Huandoy, surrounded by native queñual forest and dramatic mountain walls.

We then continue by vehicle along the winding mountain road to Portachuelo de Llanganuco, the highest point of the program at approximately 15,640 ft. On a clear day, this natural viewpoint offers outstanding panoramas of Huascaran, Huandoy, Chopicalqui, Chacraraju, Pisco and Yanapaccha. After enjoying the views and taking time for photographs, we begin our hike down an old Andean trail. The descent takes approximately 2-3 hours through quiet high-altitude scenery until we reach Yuraccorral, where our mountain team prepares camp for the night.

Day 02 :

Yuraccorral Camp - Laguna 69 - Huaraz

After breakfast at camp, we set out early toward Laguna 69. The trail climbs through a beautiful glacial valley filled with high-Andean vegetation, mountain streams and waterfalls fed by the surrounding ice and snow. As we gain altitude, the scenery becomes increasingly dramatic. Huascaran, Huandoy, Chopicalqui, Chacraraju, Pisco and Yanapaccha rise around the valley while the trail continues steadily toward the upper basin.

After approximately 3-4 hours of hiking, we reach Laguna 69 at around 15,090 ft. Its brilliant turquoise water sits beneath the steep walls and glaciers of the Cordillera Blanca, creating one of the most recognizable mountain landscapes in the Huaraz region.

We have time at the lake to rest, take photographs and enjoy the surroundings before descending along the same trail. We return to Yuraccorral, collect our equipment and meet our private transport for the drive back to Huaraz, arriving at the end of the day.
