Four Lagoons Day Hike from Huaraz
The Four Lagoons & Paso del Zorro Day Hike from Huaraz is one of the most demanding and least-traveled day hikes near the Cordillera Blanca.
Unlike the more popular Laguna 69 route, this adventure takes you into remote high-Andean terrain, combining steep ascents, alpine lakes, mountain passes and panoramic views across the Cordillera Blanca and Cordillera Negra.
The hike begins near Wilcahuain, above Huaraz, and climbs gradually toward Laguna Ahuac before continuing toward Paso del Zorro at approximately 5,000 m / 16,404 ft, the highest point of the route.
From the pass, the trail enters a quieter mountain environment associated with the Four Lagoons circuit, including Ahuac, Mullaca, Carhuac and Radian. The landscape is defined by turquoise lakes, rocky slopes, moraine terrain and a feeling of complete immersion in the Andes.
This route is designed for experienced hikers who are already acclimatized and looking for a challenging alternative hike away from the more crowded trails around Huaraz.
