Our Story
A Legacy Written in the Mountains
The story of Exploria is deeply rooted in the Andes. Our passion comes from a strong family legacy that begins with Faustino Milla, a pioneer of mountaineering in the Cordillera Blanca and a respected figure in Peruvian mountain history.
Faustino worked as a guide, cook, and porter, participating in historic expeditions alongside legendary alpinists such as Walter Bonatti, Reinhold Messner, and other international climbers. His adventurous spirit led him to climb iconic peaks including Huascarán, Alpamayo, Huandoy Sur, and many other imposing mountains, leaving a lasting mark on Andean mountaineering culture.
Following this path, Edwin and Marco Milla continued the family tradition, training with Swiss mountain guides and earning the prestigious AGMP–IFMGA certification, the highest international standard for mountain guiding.
Inspired by a desire to share their knowledge and love for the Andes, they founded Exploria with a clear purpose: to offer safe, authentic, and deeply meaningful adventures. Today, Exploria is recognized as Adventure Travel Experts in the Peruvian Andes, combining heritage, technical expertise, and a genuine passion for the mountains.
