Laguna 69 Day Hike from Huaraz
The Laguna 69 Day Hike from Huaraz is one of the most famous one day trekking experiences in Peru’s Cordillera Blanca.
The adventure combines a scenic drive through the Callejón de Huaylas and the spectacular Llanganuco Valley with a challenging high altitude hike to one of the most photographed turquoise glacial lakes in Peru.
Starting from Cebollapampa at approximately 3,900 m / 12,795 ft, the trail gradually climbs through a beautiful Andean valley surrounded by waterfalls, streams, grasslands and impressive snow-covered peaks.
After several hours of hiking, we reach Laguna 69 at approximately 4,600 m / 15,092 ft, where the intense turquoise water contrasts with the dramatic mountain scenery beneath Chacraraju and near Nevado Pisco.
Although the route does not require technical skills, the altitude and sustained ascent make this a demanding hike. Proper acclimatization and good physical condition are essential for enjoying the experience.
