Day 01 :

Huaraz – Musho – Base Camp

We depart from Huaraz at approximately 10,140 feet and drive to the village of Musho, the traditional access point to Huascaran. From here, we begin the approach hike to Base Camp at around 13,950 feet. The route crosses open valleys and high Andean terrain, offering constant views of the Huascaran massif. This first day establishes the rhythm of the Huascaran Climbing Expedition.

Day 02 :

Base Camp – Moraine Camp – Camp One

The ascent becomes more alpine as we move toward Moraine Camp and enter glacial terrain. We continue steadily to Camp One at approximately 17,390 feet. Glacier travel techniques are introduced, and the importance of rope management and pacing becomes evident. Proper hydration and rest are essential at this stage of the Huascaran Climbing Expedition.

Day 03 :

Camp One – Camp Two

Today we traverse wide glaciers and moderate snow slopes to reach Camp Two at approximately 18,860 feet. The air is noticeably thinner, and movement is slow and deliberate. Camp Two is strategically placed for the summit push and provides time for rest, hydration, and mental preparation.

Day 04 :

Summit Day – Huascaran Sur – Camp Two

We begin the summit attempt before dawn to take advantage of stable snow conditions. The climb involves sustained snow slopes, glacier crossings, and careful navigation at extreme altitude. Reaching the summit of Huascaran Sur at approximately 22,205 feet is a powerful achievement, offering expansive views across the Cordillera Blanca. After a controlled descent, we return to Camp Two.

Day 05 :

Camp Two – Base Camp

After the summit attempt, we descend carefully back to Base Camp. This day emphasizes safety, as fatigue and altitude effects are common. The descent offers time to reflect on the success of the Huascaran Climbing Expedition.

Day 06 :

Base Camp – Musho – Return to Huaraz

We hike back to Musho and return to Huaraz by private transport, marking the end of the Huascaran Climbing Expedition.
